Christina C. Rivera - Massage Therapist
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Christina C. Rivera. I am also known as C.C. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with a dance emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado. I am also internationally certified as a professional massage therapist according to the high standards of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (A.B.M.P.) I have been practicing massage since 1993.
I am the founder of the Hartsch Technique and I am currently using the Ancient Art Health Center’s facility as the international hub of this technique. I have successfully trained two certified massage therapists in the Hartsch technique and have two apprentices at Ancient Art to date. I also specialize in a variety of different techniques and fine-tune them according to your bodies needs. Some of these techniques are Myotherapy, Neuroenergetic Release, and Swedish.
The Hartsch technique is a combination of massage and physical therapy. Your initial visit consists of a full evaluation of your muscular structure. In this full evaluation I am able to discern which of your muscles are hyper contracted and which are hyper extended, therefore; enabling me to find the source of your ailment. During the bodywork session I will lengthen short muscles and shorten or strengthen muscles that are over stretched. After your session you are given specific stretching and strengthening exercises catered to your body that will help you to hold your massage for a weeks verses days. Myotherapy is a deep tissue method of massage, which erases pain from its source specific “TRIGGER POINTS” from which pain originates. Neuroenergetic Release works with muscular, neurological, and energetic systems of the body all simultaneously. By working these systems, soft tissues, as well as, posture and the alignment of the skeletal system are influenced and the body is restored to its natural health. And finally Swedish is the most common form of massage, which mainly relaxes the muscles and eases aches and pains.
I take appointments Tuesday through Thursday mornings and early afternoons. The initial session takes 90 minutes as it includes a formal evaluation of your bodies’ muscle structure. Included in your session will be the use of heat, and special stretches that you can do at home to make you feel ever so wonderful!
